IFTA Miles by state
Every trip, split at the state line.
No state mileage report from your ELD? Enter where each trip started and ended, with the stops on the way. Stateline follows a truck route between them and counts the miles in every state it crosses.
Then add the miles to the IFTA calculator in one tap.

How the miles are worked out
A truck route, not a car route
Each trip is routed for a heavy goods vehicle by openrouteservice, on OpenStreetMap roads. Truck and car routes can take different roads through different states, so the profile matters.
Counted at the state line
The route is cut where it crosses each state border (US Census Bureau boundaries) and the miles in each state are added up across your trips.
When routing is unavailable
If the road route cannot be fetched, the trip is measured as a straight line between your stops and marked that way. Real road miles are longer.
How close it gets
Checked on three interstates that cross a whole state, the miles counted in that state came within 1.4% of the official interstate length (FHWA route log, January 2026): I-70 in Kansas, I-80 in Nebraska and I-10 in Texas.
What you file
This is an estimate to fill gaps. Your ELD jurisdiction report, trip sheets and odometer readings are the records an IFTA audit asks for.
